Sparta Praha Delivers Donations to Prague’s Homes for the Elderly
The coronavirus pandemic was a testing time for all, but clubs around Europe certainly did not let that come between them and their fans. On the contrary, it brought them perhaps closer than ever before.
AC Sparta Praha is just one example of a club taking action to help its community. In recent weeks, Sparta donated the money they had collected during the coronavirus pandemic to local elderly citizens homes. Players and fans contributed, and the proceeds from various club-organized events were sent to these homes.
The club ran numerous initiatives to raise funds for their elderly fans. The #SpartaChallenge sparked individual and club donations of 191,928 CZK. The virtual tour of the Generali Česká pojišťovna Arena hosted by former player Karel Poborský and current player Costa Nhamoinesu added another 77,200 CZK. Between these activities and other contributions from Sparta fan clubs and players, Sparta managed to raise a total of 739,885 CZK (27,200 EUR).
An inspirational initiative that had a true impact on the people of Prague. Great to see nothing stopping Sparta from being there for their fans when they need it most.
