UNITED Foundation, a pillar of Club Brugge’s Foundation #MorethanFootball

As part of the #Morethanfootball Action Week, from March 30th to April 9th, the Club Brugge Foundation is using the opportunity to highlight their Community and Social Responsibility Programmes. Today, the “United Foundation“, which is one of the four main pillars of the foundation, will be presented.

On Sunday, the club already informed about the Foundation and the Action Week activities.

The #Morethanfootball Action Week gives European professional clubs the opportunity to present their social activities to the general public and to show the strong impact, which football can have on the society.

‘UNITED FOUNDATION’ PILLAR

The different Club Foundation’s  projects of Club Brugge are grouped into four main pillars. Today, the first pillar is being highlighted: the UNITED Foundation. The projects within the United Foundation pillar are aimed at social integration. The reason is that Club Brugge follows the goal of making football accessible to everyone. The programme ‘Blue and Black club‘ focuses on various disadvantaged groups. Within this initiative, among others the ‘Blind Tribune ‘ has been established, where blind people can follow the match with the help of headphones in the stadium. Next to that, there is ‘SFCB on Wheels‘, Club Brugge’s supporter club consiting of people with a diabilitites.

‘ASSIST TO WORK’ PROGRAMME

With the ‘Assist to work’ programme, Club Brugge Foundation uses various employment initiatives and works with people, who have lower chances on the labor market. The programme focuses on teaching  job skills and work attitudes through diverse activities. In collaboration with vzw Orange, a center for people with mild disabilities, every week, three people with disabilities help in the daily operation of Club Brugge. The kind of jobs and tasks which are being carried out are very diverse.

Brecht , 28 years old, comes three days a week to help with the logistics team of the Black and Blue club. He takes care of setting up tables and chairs for the home game, helps keeping the stadium clean and performs various chores. His work process is accompanied by logisticians from Club Brugge.

41-year-old Christophe helps every Monday and Friday at the Club Academy, where he ensures that the balls of the different youth teams are properly inflated and enter the correct balls bags, clean, after the training.

Kevin, who is 31-years-old assists the team every Monday with the folds of the wax of youth and a core.

Brecht, Christophe and Kevin are at all times time receiving support from Club Brugge members and are being guided through their tasks and activitites.
