#Morethanfootball Action Weeks 2020 Impact Report published
From 15 September until 11 October 2020, European clubs, leagues and FA’s joined forces to promote the social power of football throughout the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks campaign. The campaign saw more than 100 organisations take part and the Impact Report provides an overview of all the actions as well as an insight into the campaigns reach and highlighting of key facts and figures.
The #Morethanfootball Action Weeks, initiated by the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), are aimed at providing the European football community with the platform to showcase the impact of their community and social responsibility work and engage with their supporters, sponsors and the general public. This year, the focus was on initiatives that tackle challenges created by the ongoing pandemic and collaboration of stakeholders in the sport for development sector. Not only clubs, leagues and FAs but also their community partners and organisations like Special Olympics Europe-Eurasia, European Week of Sport, Fare network, UEFA Foundation for Children and ECA.
The biggest campaign on CSR in football
107 participants from 30 European countries, including Juventus, SL Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Lega Serie A, Borussia Dortmund, PAOK FC, Legia Warsaw, Pro League, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Feyenoord, Malmö FF and Barça Foundation officially took part in the campaign. A total of 4,041 posts were shared on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The message reached 41 million people on social media, 8 million more than the 2019 campaign. Club Brugge Foundation won the More than Football Award and a Mini-Pitch system that will be developed in partnership with Musco Lighting and EFDN.
