More Than Football Award 2024 Longlist: Northampton Town Community Trust – Winning with numbers
The European Football for Development Network (EFDN) is proud to present the Northampton Town Community Trust – Winning with Numbers project, which has been selected for the longlist of the More Than Football Award 2024.
The project of Northampton Town Community Trust is an innovative numeracy project that will enable parents and children to work together to improve their numeracy skills and confidence. The project will take place in various after school clubs for ten weeks, bringing new fun ways of learning with numbers.
Every parent and child will have completely free access to the Winning with Numbers online platform so the fun learning never ends.
Main project objectives:
- Confidence in supporting own child’s numeracy development.
- Confidence in Numeracy topics.
- Innovative methods of using numeracy with their own child.
- Developed thinking and understanding of Key Stage 1 & 2 Numeracy (understanding numbers, counting, solving number problems, measuring, estimating, sorting, noticing patterns, adding, subtracting, multiplication and division, time, percentages and statistics).
- Improved confidence on how to use Data to improve on lifestyle choices, budgeting, dietary needs.
- Improved interest in Numeracy.
- Engaging in alternate learning methods through sporting activities (supporting various learning styles and needs).
