Montrose FC give away thousands of tickets for ‘#Morethanfootball’
Crowd numbers are set to be significantly higher than normal at Montrose FC’s Links Park this Saturdays thanks to a ticket giveaway by Montrose Community Trust (MCT), the clubs charitable.
Well over 2,000 free tickets have been handed out to the Trust’s programme participants for the Scottish Ladbrokes League 1 encounter with Stenhousemuir as part of the #MoreThanFootball Action Week.
Montrose Community Trust Chief Executive, Peter Davidson said, “We are delighted to be issuing these tickets to our participants, both young and old, and we hope that many – and in particular those who wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to attend – are able to join us on Saturday, in celebrating the #MoreThanFootball Action Week and of course, hopefully, cheering Montrose onto a win.
“Led by the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), of which we are full members, the initiative aims to inform the wider public of how our work supports those most in need in our community, such as those who are unemployed, living in isolation, recovering from an addiction, living with a disability and/or suffering from poor mental health, to name just a few.
“As part of the celebrations on the day, we’ll have flag bearers along with 11 mascots to lead the team out, aged from 2 to 92 years old, each representing a different community programme.
