Hearts supporting the More than Football Action Weeks
Culminating with their 4th Big Hearts Day on Saturday 30th March at the game Hearts vs Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian FC will take part in the #MoreThanFootball Weeks campaign from 19th March to 9th April. On this occasion, supporters will get the chance to hear more about community projects from football organisations like Big Hearts and their positive impact on changing peoples’ lives. This year’s event at Tynecastle Park will see a team of Big Hearts Supporters involved in pre-match activities around the Stadium for the whole family to enjoy and opportunities for Hearts’ fans to look at the club’s recent achievements in reducing social isolation.
The #Morethanfootball Action Weeks are a campaign for the European football community to showcase the impact of their community and social responsibility activities and programmes. Supported by the UEFA Foundation for Children, the ECA and the European Football for Development Network, the campaign provides the wider European football family with a platform to inform and engage with fans and stakeholders on their Community and Social Responsibility activities and raise awareness of the transformative role European club football can play in changing peoples’ lives for the better.
Craig Wilson, Big Hearts’ General Manager explains: ”Working with the network and taking part in More Than Football over the past 3 years has been a fantastic experience for our growing charity. We’ve had the opportunity to meet with established organisations here in the UK and across Europe, to learn from them and to share our own successes, including our Big Hearts Supporters’ Movement which is a simple way for football fans to support the most vulnerable in their community.”
