BIG HEARTS IS MORE THAN FOOTBALL: THE ACTION WEEKS 2018
Big Hearts will take part this year again in the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks taking place between the 21st March and the 8th April 2018!
Launched by the European Football Development Network in 2017, the campaign aims to promote the power of football as a tool for social development and raise awareness of the community projects delivered by Football Clubs and Charities throughout Europe.
As official member of the Network, Big Hearts is delighted to announce a series of #MoreThanFootball activities over the next weeks, in addition to our existing strands of support – all demonstrating how football off and on the pitch can improve outcomes for individuals and families in need.
22nd March – BBC Radio Scotland Sportsound live from Tynecastle, shining a light on Big Hearts’ multicultural T.E.A.M Project.
2nd to 6th April – Free Holiday Football Courses at Tynecastle, welcoming 10 young people from Big Hearts’ Kinship Care Programme.
3rd April – Launch of our ‘Healthy Living’ Sessions, a new partnership with Active Steps to provide free advice on wellbeing at Tynecastle.
4th April – Fundraising Group with the Edinburgh Marathon Festival runners raising money to support Big Hearts’ Emergency Essentials Fund.
5th April – Male Carers Family Walk at the Water of Leith, for Kinship young people and their carers involved in our Men’s Support Group.
7th April – Football Memories Tasting Session available at the Big Hearts zone before the home game Hearts vs Aberdeen.
10th April – Kinship Family Day Out at Almond Valley Discovery Centre, with families across our Kinship Care programme.
