KAA Gent announces their #MoreThanFootball Action Week Activities
From 30.3 untill 9.4.2017 the #MoreThanFootball Action Week raises awareness for the social role of football and the impact of the investment of professional football clubs in community & social responsibility activities. KAA Gent joins the action week with KAA Gent Football in the community.

It has been eight years since KAA Gent announced the establishment of its community department with the publication of its social charter. KAA Gent, the supporters’ federation, the city of Gent and Gent’s OCMW (Public Centre for Social Welfare) decided to join forces to realize this. Today KAA Gent’s Football in the community is a well respected innovative force, both in Gent’s sports environment and in the local community.
In 2016 865 people that needed support have taken part in 14 community programmes. 382 social activities were organized, of whom 100 in the KAA Gent stadium. KAA Gent Football in the community realized more than 21.000 contact hours.
The KAA Gent community foundation has a yearly budget of € 520.00 and 5 staff members (4,2 FTE’s). In 2016 865 people that needed support have taken part in 14 community programmes. 382 social activities were organized, of whom 100 in the KAA Gent stadium. KAA Gent Football in the community realized more than 21.000 contact hours.
Since 2014 KAA Gent is a proud member of the European Football for Development Network (EFDN).
